Essential Export Customs Documentation

Parcels sent abroad must follow customs rules. Correct papers help avoid delays. Customs usually asks for:

Commercial invoice: A list of the sender and receiver, each item, how many there are, their value and the currency. Ask blueEX how many copies it needs.
HS codes: Codes that describe the type of goods. Customs uses them to work out duties and taxes.
Clear descriptions: A clear description, such as "100% cotton men’s shirts", not vague words like "gift" or "goods".
Packing list and weights: The number of boxes, their weights and their sizes, matching the invoice.

Items You Usually Cannot Send by Air

Who Pays Duties Abroad?

Parcels sent abroad may have duties and fees to pay in the destination country. There are usually two ways this works. Ask blueEX which it offers:

Receiver Pays (DDU)

The receiver pays any duties, fees and taxes before the parcel is handed over.

Sender Pays (DDP)

The sender pays the duties in advance, so the receiver has nothing to pay on delivery.
