A plain guide for online buyers and sellers: tracking cash on delivery parcels, paying at the door and how sellers are paid.

How Cash on Delivery (COD) Works

Many online orders in Pakistan are paid by cash on delivery. The buyer pays when the parcel arrives, and the courier collects the money for the seller. Cash on delivery is one of blueEX’s core services.

For a COD parcel, there are two things to follow: the parcel itself and the payment. The parcel journey ends at delivery, but the seller only gets the money after blueEX has checked and paid it.

The Five Steps of a COD Parcel

A cash on delivery parcel usually goes through these steps:

1. Booking and the COD Amount

Booking

The shop books the parcel and enters the buyer’s address and the amount to collect. The amount is printed on the airway bill with the barcode.

2. Pickup and Sorting

On the Way

blueEX collects the parcel from the shop. It is sorted at a hub and sent on towards the delivery city.

3. Delivery and Payment at the Door

Delivery

At the delivery city, a rider takes the parcel to the buyer, collects the amount on the label and records the delivery. Riders deliver Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

4. Cash Checked at the Branch

Checking

The cash collected is checked against the deliveries made. We could not confirm the exact process.

5. Payment to the Seller

Payment

blueEX pays the seller by bank transfer, after taking off its agreed charges, on the schedule in the seller’s agreement.

Tips for Buyers Paying Cash on Delivery

These simple steps help your delivery go smoothly:

Have the Right Amount

Riders make many stops and may not carry much change. Having the exact amount ready saves time.

Check the Packing

Check that the tape, seals and label are not damaged before you pay. We could not confirm blueEX’s rule on opening a parcel before paying, so ask the shop.

Answer the Rider's Call

Riders often call before they arrive. If you do not answer, the rider may record that you could not be reached.

Ask Someone to Receive It

If you will be out, ask someone at home or reception to receive the parcel, and leave them the exact amount.

If the Amount Looks Wrong

Sometimes the amount on the label is different from what you paid at checkout. The rider can only collect the amount printed on the label:

If the amount on the label is more than your order total, contact the shop before you accept the parcel or pay.
Pay the full amount on the label to receive the parcel. The rider cannot change it.
Keep proof of payment, such as the delivery record or a receipt, in case of questions later.

How Sellers Get Paid

For online sellers, knowing when money arrives helps with planning. blueEX pays sellers by bank transfer:

Statements: Sellers can check statements on their blueEX business account.
Payment schedule: Delivered consignments are settled to the merchant's bank account on the terms in the merchant's agreement with blueEX; confirm the schedule with blueEX directly.
Charges: Ask blueEX how charges and fees are shown on your statements, so you can match each payment with its tracking number.
